 Paul Walsh

Principal/Founder/Owner

Paul Walsh is a California native and graduate from U.C. Santa Barbara in 1992 with a BS in Political Science.  Mr. Walsh continued to law school at the University of Pacific, where he served at the Transnational Lawyer Comment Editor, received his Juris Doctor with Distinction, and earned a separate Certificate in the Governmental Affairs program.

Upon admission to the Bar in 1996, Mr. Walsh commenced his legal career in civil litigation and his focus on representation of clients in Construction Defect Litigation.  Paul Walsh is recognized by Super Lawyers for his experience and expertise in Construction Litigation.


Paul is a contributory author for “Chapter 14 Construction Defects:  Case Management and Mediation” in the CEB Hornbook California Construction Contracts, Defects and Litigation.  

Mr. Walsh is an admitted member of the State Bar of California, the Association of Defense Counsel Northern California, and The Claims and Litigation Management (CLM), forums for collaboration between construction attorneys, claims professionals, third party administrators and industry leaders and ongoing training in the construction litigation field. Mr. Walsh has successfully represented his clients through jury trial, binding arbitration, mediation, and successful argument before the California Court of Appeals.

Garrett Burton

Associate Attorney

Garrett Burton was admitted to the Bar in 2018 and has since worked on hundreds of construction defect and general liability cases. Garrett attended University of San Francisco Law School, graduating with USF Law's International and Comparative Law Certificate with honors. Prior to law school, he attended the University of California Santa Barbara, where he studied environmental science, international relations, and French.  Garrett handles all aspects of civil litigation, including crafting discovery, depositions, motion work, oral argument at hearings and settlement negotiations.  Mr. Burton is also recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star in Construction Litigation.

Stephen Bays

Of Counsel

Mr. Bays is a highly experienced litigator who primarily handles complex civil litigation matters involving the defense of developers, general contractors, subcontractors and suppliers in a wide variety of trades in construction defect lawsuits throughout California.  Steve has handled over 1,000 mediations and settlement conferences, consistently achieving positive results for his clients.  Steve takes a proactive approach to resolving disputes through early evaluation along with open and honest communication to reach common ground with his clients, claims partners and opposing counsel.   

Steve graduated from UC Santa Barbara in 1987 with a degree in Political Science.  Steve earned his Juris Doctor from Santa Clara University School of Law in 1990 and was admitted to the California State Bar Us District Court for the Northern District of California that same year. Steve was admitted to the US Supreme Court Bar in 1997.

Wayne Stevenson

Associate

Wayne R. Stevenson is a civil litigator focused on construction defect and general liability claims.  Wayne attended Loyola Marymount University Law School, graduating with a dual concentration in Civil Litigation and Corporate Law, receiving his admission to the California Bar in 2023.  Prior to law school, Wayne worked as a safety specialist in the trucking and port logistics industry and studied broadcast journalism at the University of Montana. Wayne handles civil litigation matters including discovery, depositions, motions and represents clients at hearings and in settlement negotiations.
